This article steps you through how to update the firmware on your older Bixolon SPP-R300 printers.
The latest firmware version for this printer is V02.17. You can check your firmware version on the printer by pressing and holding the Power and Feed buttons when the printer is on. A Self-Test sheet will be printed with the firmware version shown on the top.
Step-by-step instructions on how to update the firmware version. Note: you will need administrator permissions on your computer to do this.
1. Download and Install the printer driver: https://www.bixolon.com/download_view.php?idx=86
2. Connect the printer to your computer with the included USB cable
3. Download and install the attached Unified Mobile Utility for PC (please contact us at support@securepark.io if you are using an Apple device) and the attached SPP-R300_V02.17 STOBa 061416.fls file.
4. Run the Unified Mobile Utility program
5. Turn on your printer
6. Under Communication Setting > Interface, select USB
7. On the right-hand side, click Firmware Manager
8. Click Start Download and select the SPP-R300_V02.17 STOBa fls file from where you saved it on your computer
9. Wait for the firmware version to install, then you will see the following:
Click OK. You are now good to unplug the printer and use as before.
