The Sessions page is designed to replace the Parking Sessions Report, Permit Search, and to make searching for specific validations (or sessions) easier with the numerous new parameters.
Let's start by going through what each of these filters do.
Plate Number: Entering a full or partial license plate in this field will return sessions that include the number entered
Permit/Hangtag: Entering a full or partial permit or hangtag will return sessions for that permit or hangtag
Space/Stall: Entering a space or stall will only return sessions that are assigned to that space
Start & End Date and Time: Selecting a date and time range will only show results in that range. See the Conditions filter below which directly applies
Conditions: The conditions apply to the date and time ranges chosen.
- Sessions Active During Range is set as the default. This means that any parking sessions that were active at any time in the range chosen will show. For example: If I select a range between 2 and 3 PM on September 1, I will be shown sessions that expired at 2:01 PM since they were still active at 2 PM. I will also be shown sessions that started at 2:59 PM.
- Sessions Start During Range means that only sessions started (or, became active) during the date and time range chosen will be shown. Using the example above, I will not be shown parking sessions that started at 1:59 PM, even if they were active between 2 and 3 PM.
- Sessions Expire During Range will only show me sessions that expired during the range chosen. Again using the date range of 2-3 PM on September 1, only sessions that expired between 2 and 3 will be shown. I will not be shown sessions that expired at 3:01 PM.
Group & Location Lists: Filtering by group and location will only pull back results for the locations chosen
Source Type: The Source Type filters out the interfaces that the sessions were pulled back from. Sessions created in SecurePark are labeled "SecurePark" and permits created in SecurePark are labeled "SecurePark Permit". All others are based on the interfaces you have set up.
Advanced Filters: The advanced filter allows you to search for a Transaction ID that's related to a specific session pulled in from a third-party interface. Although the conditions here may be too advanced for a simple Transaction ID search, in the future we'll be adding more advanced filters.
We've also added some additional columns when pulling back the results:
Most of those are pretty self-explanatory, but I want to direct your attention to the "Received Date-Time" column. Sometimes, sessions can missed or will be sent before a session becomes active. This column allows you to see the time that the session was actually available in SecurePark (both on the web and mobile app) and you can then compare that to the "Start Date-Time" which is when the session became active. This can be handy in figuring out why a parker, for example, received a ticket when they actually had an active session.
