The import function in Roker Enforcement allows you to upload a list of permits, including all details related to that permit holder (such as issued date, location, names, phone numbers, and multiple others) as well as the vehicles assigned to those permits.

Step 1 - Download the template

First, be sure you're logged into the Roker Enforcement web console as an administrator (or primary administrator) and have access to the import function. Then, click on the Advanced tab, and then Permit Parker Import.
If you're looking for violation import instead, visit this article.

Note: If you don't have access, you will need to ask the primary administrator of your account to give you Import permissions

Step 2 - Create your spreadsheet

Download the template and open it up - it will look exactly like the below.

As you can see in the above template, there are multiple fields, including three required fields with the rest being optional (required fields are marked with a * )

  • Hangtag ID: (required) The ID used to identify that particular hangtag, or permit. The ID can be alphabetical, numerical, or alphanumeric.
  • Issued Date#: (required) The date the hangtag will be issued
  • Location ID: (required) The location ID (from Roker) that the hangtag will be tied to. This must be an existing location ID - if you are not sure which ID to use, go to Settings > Violation > Locations, and use a location number from that list
  • Expiry Date: (optional) An expiry for the permit, if applicable
  • First Name: (optional) The first name of the permit holder
  • Last Name: (optional) The last name of the permit holder
  • City: (optional) The location of the permit
  • Phone: (optional) The phone number of the permit holder
  • Cell: (optional) The cellphone number of the permit holder
  • Email: (optional) The email address of the permit holder
  • Company: (optional) The company for which the permit was issued

You may choose any number of optional fields to add details to.

Step 3 - Permit Import

Delete the example and enter in your own details. Then, save the document (it should automatically be saved as a csv file, which is what is required). You may rename the file and save it in a folder on your computer that you'll remember.

In SecurePark, go to Advanced > Permit Parker Import, and select Choose File.  Choose the csv file you saved, and then click Upload.

If everything was uploaded, you will see a green banner at the top of the screen with "Added X permit parkers" (see below)

If there was an error, the remaining permits will import correctly, but an error message will show in red at the bottom, as seen below:

This means there was an error updating this specific permit. Make a note of these errors, if they do occur, and either resubmit a separate spreadsheet with the fixed errors, or add the permit manually.

If there are multiple errors happening on a regular basis, please contact us at support@rokerinc.com with further details.

Step 4 - Vehicle Upload

Now, you'll need to upload the vehicles that are assigned to the hangtag ID's that you created in steps 1-3 above. Note that you will not be able to add vehicles unless those hangtags (or permits) have been created.

In Roker, go to Advanced > Permit Parker Vehicle Import. As before, download the template provided and remove the example plate.

Step 5 - Enter in Vehicle Details

Enter in the Hangtag IDs that are already created in the system, and the license plate. As you can see below, the hangtag ID and license plates are required, but the vehicle make and color are not.

Note: As you can see below, multiple plates may be added under one hangtag ID.

Step 6 - Upload Vehicles

Follow the same directions as in step 3, except you will be importing through the Permit Parker Vehicle Import button. If the upload was successful, a green banner will show at the top of the page, as seen below:

If some of the vehicles were not able to upload, the error message will pop up as follows:

As you can see, the BANANA license plate was already in use for that hangtag ID, or permit. If a license plate was used without a correct hangtag ID, the bottom error message will show ("Permit parker not found for hangtags: HANGTAG1")
